Role Description
The Duty Manager is responsible for working to the standards of excellence and guidelines expected of a 4* property, that are laid out by the Health Club Manager, to ensure the highest quality of safety, care and hygiene is provided to our guests, at all times.
Role Responsibilities
In general, working as a Health Club Duty Manager, you will need to:
- Maintain expected high standards of customer care
- Prioritise target activities and user groups, especially in local area
- Assist in the design and promotion of activities to meet customer demand and generate revenue to increase usage with a particular focus on avoiding loss of existing users, meanwhile, increasing membership
- Manage maintenance, repairs and cleaning
- Assist with training, upskilling and supervision staff, including managing staff rotas
- Carry out health and safety checks on the equipment and site
- Handle complaints and incidents, such as accidents, emergencies or theft in an effective and efficient manner
- Ensure own and staff members' compliance training is up to date
- Deliver fitness training - subject to having the necessary fitness instructing/sports coaching qualifications
- Cash up and stock-taking
Qualifications
- A Pool Lifeguard qualification and a fitness Instructor qualification are essential
- Good level of English speaking and understanding
- Ability to create a welcoming and positive guest experience
- Ability to work to a high standard of cleanliness
Person Specification
- Mature, energetic, friendly, person who can demonstrate attention to detail and has a good work ethic
- Good communication skills who is committed to delivering a high level of customer service
- Excellent organisational and time management skills (as the duty manager is also partly accountable for the overall profitability of the centre)
